# Introducing the MXEdge Switch

As the latest addition to the MXEdge family, the MXEdge Switch has been meticulously designed to bring portable, performance-driven innovation to climbers everywhere. Building on the legacy of the original MXEdge Lift, this board introduces a compact, switchable edge system engineered for versatility, durability, comfort and real results.

### The MXEdge DNA: Why It’s Different

Our MXEdge concept emerged from a desire to optimise every variable in fingerboard training: edge depth, curve geometry, front/back radius, material, surface texture, and more. What started as the famous 20 mm rounded testing edge (sporting a 10 mm front radius for consistent engagement) evolved into a parametric 3D-designed compound curve edge after extensive athlete and coach input.

We didn’t stop at flat or unlevel edges. Instead, we developed a compound-curvature geometry, one that’s been repeatedly optimised via workshops, ergonomic testing, and athlete feedback for maximum comfort and reliability. The result: smoother transitions, even loading across fingers, and a remarkably natural feel.

### **Collaborative R&D: Your Trust Matters**

Our innovation journey has been **open, collaborative, and grounded in expertise**:

- **In-house PhD-led literature review** (Cam Hartley) explored biomechanics, injury patterns, finger strength quantification, and ergonomic criteria.
- **Coach & athlete workshops** helped balance variables and nail down what “comfort and performance” mean in the real world .
- We consulted **industry experts** physios, healthcare specialists, and strength trainers, to align our design with real needs both in rehab and high-performance settings.

From the basic 20 mm test rung to the precision-engineering of the MXEdge family, our design philosophy embraces transparency and collaboration. Whether it’s consulting with climbing legends like Will Bosi or working with coaches and physios, **shared expertise is why we believe we’re consistently delivering the best training tools on the market**.
