André Neres
Ambassador
André Neres joined the Lattice team in 2025 as an ambassador, and is currently training on a Climbing Training Plan PLUS, written by coach Jen Wood.
André began climbing in 2001 at 15 years old and climbed a first 8a within the first year on rock. “It took me 10 minutes to realise this would be my main activity in life.”
With a long standing focus split between competition climbing and outdoor performance, André has claimed multiple National Championship titles in both Lead and Boulder. Now approaching 40, the motivation to compete and push performance is still very much alive.
Outside, André has climbed several 9a routes and has onsighted more than 100 routes in the 8a to 8c+ range.
“My goals are to travel to new areas, keep sharing a lot with this wonderful community, send my first 9a+ and maybe more, who knows.”
Alongside personal climbing goals, André works as a coach for the National Youth Team, passing on years of experience to the next generation. “Giving back to a sport that has given me so much is very satisfying, it keeps me in a constant process of learning and improving. I guess that’s a big part of the climbing game.”
