Caro Ciavaldini
Athlete
Caro Ciavaldini grew up on the majestic tropical island of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean so it is no surprise that she now spends her life exploring the beauty of the outdoor world. After dedicating her early career to achieving success and technical expertise in competition climbing, she is now enjoying an exciting new chapter in her climbing life, travelling the world and sampling the endless diversity climbing has to offer. At 39 years old, she is now the mother of 2, and being a climber AND a parent is definitely a challenge in itself.
“I choose to fight to still be a climber, because it is my identity, and the best way for me to be a good mum”.
In the world of competition climbing, Caro’s highlights include winning the Chamonix World Cup, 2011, multiple World Cup podiums, and third at the World Games in Kaoshiung, 2010. Outside, her trad highlight includes ‘Le Voyage’ (E10, 7a).
