Mari Augusta Salvesen

Athlete

Mari Augusta Salvesen is a climber from Oslo, Norway. Mari’s life is centred around climbing, both as a source of joy and professionally with her work in industrial climbing.

In 2022, Mari flashed the challenging offwidth crack ‘Belly Full of Bad Berries’ (5.13b) at Indian Creek in the United States, becoming the second person and first woman to do so. Additionally, she is recognised for her first female ascent of ‘Ray’s Roof’ (E7 6c) in Staffordshire, UK, a highly demanding horizontal offwidth crack. Mari has also tackled prominent big wall routes, including ‘The Shield’ on El Capitan, and notable trad climbs like ‘Master’s Edge’ (E7 6b) in the UK. Mari made the first ascent of ‘Tazlov’ (E9 8b) on the island of Sotra, Norway in 2022.

Lattice Training is thrilled to partner with Mari on her climbing journey. Her consistent motivation and the joy she finds in her hard work align seamlessly with our ethos. Whether Mari is relishing the Norwegian granite in cold weather or seizing sporadic winter windows for quality training, she embodies the spirit of continuous improvement without sacrificing the pure joy of climbing.

In Mari’s own words, “My life pretty much orbits around climbing,” and at Lattice Training, we’re privileged to be a part of her journey. Together, we’re igniting that fire and reaching for the peaks, excited to see where this incredible climber’s journey will lead.
