Sheffield (hybrid) · 24–37.5 hours per week · £29,000–£32,000 FTE, depending on experience
The short version
We're looking for a psyched climber to own Lattice's Instagram and email. You'll plan what goes out and why, make it (video, carousels, stories, written posts, a weekly newsletter), and keep both channels running consistently week after week. You'll shape the content strategy alongside the founders, Tom and Ollie, and draw on the Lattice coaching team for the training knowledge. The job is turning what we know about training into content that climbers who want to get better will stop for, read, and come back to.
About Lattice
We've spent over a decade working out what actually makes climbers improve, testing and training thousands of athletes, from climbers training for the first time to Alex Honnold. There are four sides to the business: one-to-one coaching, a training app, an education course, and physical training products. We're a small team, so you'll have real ownership quickly and your work will be visible to a large, engaged climbing audience from your first week.
What you'll do
Get our training knowledge out to climbers. This role exists to turn what the coaching team knows into content the community can use. You don't need that expertise yourself, Tom and Ollie will give you the voice and the substance, and it's your job to get it out there. You will need to get properly under the skin of what we're building and why, so you can explain it to climbers in a way that lands. Being a keen climber is essential.
Own Instagram. Create engaging content for instagram, staying on top of trends and monitoring performance to keep content relevant and fresh. Plan, design, write, produce videos and publish posts, reels and stories. Build and run the weekly content schedule so things go out on time, look good and are accurate. Work with Lattice athletes, coaches and founders to get the content and footage you need.
Own email. Write, edit and send the weekly Lattice newsletter, plus campaigns and sequences that keep climbers engaged and subscribed. You'll own the newsletter, ensuring we are creating engaging content that converts subscribers to customers and keeps everyone engaged and informed. We'll support you with the training content, overall strategy and tone.
Be our link to the climbing community. Reply to comments and DMs quickly and with motivation. Come to coaching events and assessment days to collect content and meet the people we work with.
Sweat the details. We're a training science company, and our audience will spot it if we're sloppy. Everything goes past you before it’s published for accuracy.
What we need from you
- You can film and edit short-form video to a high standard, and you can show us examples you made yourself
- Design posts and carousels that are clear, easy to understand and on brand
- You've run a social channel that people actually followed — your own or someone else's
- You write clearly and accurately, with a good eye for design and obsessive attention to detail
- You understand marketing strategies to help sales and explain service updates
- Be able to understand channel analytics and insights
- You can work on your own initiative and hold a consistent tone of voice without being chased
- You're a confident, personable communicator, up for representing Lattice in the community and working across the team
- You're a keen climber who wants a career in this industry
What you don't need
You don't need marketing qualifications, agency experience, or prior knowledge of our tools. We use Klaviyo for email and Emplifi for scheduling, and campaign tracking is part of the job. Prior experience is ideal but if you can make good content and write well, we'll help you learn the rest. It is important you are a keen climber and have experienced training or would be willing to try training so you can relate to our audience. You do not need specific training or sport science knowledge as long as you can convert Tom and Ollie’s into effective content.
