FAQs
Can I pick my coach?
You cannot choose your coach – we will assign your coach based on their availability for your chosen start date.
But don’t fear, we’re a really close knit team, that fully embraces the ‘hive mind’ mentality within our approach to coaching. We continually share ideas and approaches, and learn from each other’s specific areas of expertise.
Do I get feedback from the Lattice Training Plan mini assessment?
Yes — You will receive feedback on your assessment. Your coach will explain which areas are a strength or weakness, and how they are addressing this in your plan.
However, if you would like a more detailed report, check out our full Remote Assessments.
I can't start my plan immediately. When must I use it by?
You must start your plan within 6 months of purchase.
When should I start?
A good time to start would be during a period where you’re not focusing on performance, for example, your off-season. It’s helpful to have at least a 6 week period where you can focus more on training and less on performing.
If autumn is your outdoor climbing season, then you may want to train over winter whilst it’s too cold. If spring-summer is your outdoor climbing season, autumn may be a good time to begin. Alternatively, you may want to dedicate a period of time to training before going on a trip, regardless of the time of year.
However, for many, you are able to climb outside year round and/or may not have distinct training and climbing seasons.
Whatever balance you wish to strike between training and climbing, your Lattice Coach will be able to create a plan specific to your needs.
Do I get in-person coaching and online support?
No – Whilst Lattice Training Plans are 100% customised, they are fully remote self-coached plans once delivered. As you won’t receive ongoing coach support, we are unable to edit your plan after delivery.
However, if you spot an issue with your plan or something feels wrong, please contact us as soon as possible so we can rectify it for you.
Alternatively, if you are looking for a plan with ongoing coach support and flexible plan edits, check out our Performance Coaching Plans.
Can I edit my plan after I receive it?
No – Lattice Training Plans don’t include ongoing coach support, so we are unable to edit your plan after delivery.
However, if you spot an issue with your plan or something feels wrong, please contact us as soon as possible so we can rectify it for you.
If you want support from a coach and the freedom to change your plan whenever you need, even last minute, check out our Performance Coaching Plans.
When can I start?
Once you have completed and submitted your mini assessment, we aim to get your plan to you within 2-3 weeks, however, this can be longer in busy periods.
Feel free to get in touch for more info.
I want to focus on both boulder and sport climbing, which plan should I choose?
No problem!
Our plans are 100% bespoke to you, so don’t worry too much about which plan you choose. Let us know in your pre-plan form about your preferred discipline(s), goals, and preferences, and our coaches will write a tailored plan for you!
Can you plan around my busy/difficult schedule and/or limited facilities?
Yes!
We understand that everyone is different so we specialise in designing plans to fit in alongside your life, whatever your schedule or facilities.
Whether you travel for work, or have a busy family life, our expert coaches will write you a plan bespoke to your unique circumstances..
If you think you may need the freedom to change your plan after delivery, even last minute, you should have a look at our Performance Coaching Plan.
Or, if you’re not sure which plan is right for you, contact us and chat to our friendly team.
I've already done a Remote Assessment. Do I need to do the assessment again?
No – as long as your assessment was taken within the last 4 weeks, we can use the results from your Remote Assessment to write your Lattice Training Plan.
Email [email protected] to let us know you’ve done a Remote Assessment recently.
What happens if I get injured?
If you become injured, please stop all training and climbing immediately, and notify your coach. We are not physiotherapists, therefore, we are unable to advise on injury rehabilitation. You should seek advice from a climbing-specific physio – your coach may be able to recommend a physio in your local area.
What happens at the end of the plan?
At the end of your 12- or 24-week training block, you can purchase another Lattice Training Plan. This will include another assessment so you can benchmark your progress.
Alternatively, you may want to upgrade to one of our Performance Coaching Plan.
My technique needs work. Is this the right plan for me?
Our training plans are focused on developing the physical attributes needed for climbing. Your coach will look at the results of your testing and write a custom physical training plan to develop these.
If you’re hoping to focus on developing technique, we would recommend you work with a local in-person coach. Our coaches are able to offer some feedback from videos of you climbing, however, the focus of our plans is to develop your physical characteristics.

I always knew i would be capable of climbing hard but i always thought it would take me a few years. After 3 months of my first Lattice plan I went from V5-6 to V9 I can’t believe it yet haha the exercises, the conitioning it’s amazing Next monday I’m starting my second plan and I couldn’t be more motivated. Thanl you so much Lattice.
channing lai –
Great plan. I just subscribed to my 3rd block as I have seen quantifiable results since I started last year. Lattice is my first structured training and I like how easy it is to just follow along all the exercises. It forced me to have accountability and work on my weaknesses. I highly recommend this plan if you are in need of some structure to training and want to go over your pleateau.

After getting stuck on the same level for years, I decided I need some proper training instead of random climbing – and I thought I should get a professionally designed program instead of making one myself with my degree from Google University. The results were impressive! I improved more than I expected. It wasn’t only the exercises were on-the-spot for my weaknesses, but having such a well planned program and seeing progress with controlled testing motivated me more to go to the next session (and maybe also paying for it 😁). The flexibility to design your own week (with proper guidance) was also a big plus for a full-time office worker like me. I’m now back for my second block, and can’t wait to start! Definitely recommended ✌
Petri Koskimäki –
Just finished my first training plan, and already purchased another 12 week block. I really loved training with the plan, and the app made it so easy to follow. I did the advanced remote assessment before starting with the plan, and it revealed my weaknesses very clearly. After 3 months I already see improvements in many of those areas. I feel more motivated than ever, and I can’t wait to start the second block! Highly recommended
Carson Phillips –
After training on my own for years I had achieved my goal finger strength score however I was struggling with progression in the areas of Anaerobic Capacity and core strength and endurance. I asked Lattice to focus my plan on these two areas and it worked perfectly. Now 1 year later I retested and doubled my numbers in both areas making my previous weaknesses into notable strengths. What is more is I am climbing better and stronger than ever. I’m very impressed by Lattice and will continue to work with them!
Mats Olsen –
I did a Lattice training plan for 8 weeks at the start of the year and all I can say is that it was a great experience. The plan was thoughtfully made, and I made good gains on both finger strength and pull up strength. An additional benefit of the plan is that you know exactly what to do that week. Not more, not less. It removes a lot of mental stress trying to continuously adapt your training. In the past I’ve always felt like I “should be doing more” or “should be doing something else”, but with this plan I could put that part of my mind to rest. I really enjoyed working on the plan and look forward on using my gains out in the wild.
Inka –
I just wanted to thank you for the great Lattice training plan. I finished it in March and completely exceeded my expectations when the outdoor season began. I climbed my first 7C which indeed was the goal for the spring and other easier problems that had felt impossible before. I don’t think this would’ve happened without structured and well-thought-out plan. I’m looking forward to training with Lattice again once the outdoor season is over!

Last year a couple of climbing friends had got good results with Lattice climbing plan, so I thought of giving it a try too to get a more specific evaluation of my strengths and weaknesses and to get a custom made plan to climb better in the outdoor season, as well as indoors. The tests were easy to do and the plan I got was well planned, structured and easily followed in the Crimpd app. The focus was finger strength and I found the climbing and fingerboard sessions really tough and challenging (both different from what I used to do). I was still able to complete all the trainings and found the rest weeks really essential for recovery. It was also very motivating to train systematically. In the end of the 12 weeks my finger strenght improved 10% and also basic strenght, power endurance and core strength improved significally. I am really happy with the results and I can feel the change when I’m climbing. I’m pretty confident that I will reach my grade goals (7c indoors, 7b outdoors) this year! Also planning to get a new plan in the autumn/next spring. I highly recommend Lattice Lite plan for everybody who wants to get a more detailed assessment and a structured plan to get stronger and climb better. Thank you Cameron and the Lattice Team for this great product!
Abdulrahman Abughazala –
I started the plan in December with hopes of getting to a performance phase by February. I was not dissapointed one bit. 6 weeks in i went from not hanging on 7mm to doing pullups x3 on it. I was able to hang on monos. My endurnace and power never felt better. I went on my trip and felt really great on an 8a as well as finished a 7b and 7b+. The plan works if you stick to it mo matter how little.
Matt Dearden –
Having done two of these over the past two winters I can confirm they really work! I travel a lot for work but the plans were perfectly structured to allow me to fit everything in each week. Both times I came into the sport season feeling strong and managed to up my red point a couple of grades.
Marius Hamacher –
Overall a great experience. Completing the plan got me hooked on structured training, as a lot of the exercises were surprisingly fun and there was enough variation to keep things from getting stale. Comments from the pre-assessment were incorporated into the plan and after completing it, I improved more than I expected. Communication was quick and very helpful. I sustained a shoulder injury shortly before the plan was going to start. The Lattice Team rescheduled and offered advice on how to best proceed. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in getting into training for climbing.
Glenn –
Loved the structured program, felt like I was actually training for the first since starting climbing. After completing a 12 week sport climbing program that had me mainly doing bouldering sessions, when I got back on lead I had more confidence and felt so much stronger. Prior to the program I had sent one 7a. I have just finished a climbing trip in Kalymnos where I onsighted 10 7a’s, 4 7a+’s and sent my first 7b on my 4th attempt. I can’t wait to start my next phase of training.
Will Gilbert –
I was bought the climbing programme as a birthday present but it was something I was considering anyway. I’d been stuck at 6c for a long time and hadn’t manage to send a single 7a. The programme helped me develop a lot of strength, and ultimately send not only my first 7a, but I even managed a 7b. I learned a lot about training and structuring a training programme, and it is definitely something I’ll be looking to repeat in the near future! I would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who’s looking at sport-specific training, but especially to those who, like me, find themselves on a performance plateau. It’s hard work, but the results justify it!
Jack –
I have climbed for a fairly long time, never staying too consistent in my training and often having large breaks/gaps in my climbing because of work or injury. Because of this I have hovered at the same grade for years. My plan of taking my grade from 7a (more like 6c/+ when starting the program) to 7b in three months seemed overly optimistic but I am a gambling man and had a bet with my friend so needs must. To my and everyone else’s surprise not only have I managed to tick a 7b at week 10 of the program I also managed to tick a 7b+ as well. Needless to say, I’m thrilled with the end result along with the lack of injury (which is normally my down fall). I have been recommending the program to my friends, fellow climbers and would recommend it to anyone who has found themselves in a plateau or is simply looking for some accountability and structure. A big shout out and thank you to my training coach who wrote the program. For anyone who is struggling to justify the price, my gym membership is roughly £50 a month and £150 for the program (£300 total for three months). Based on my previous experience, it is unlikely that I would’ve got myself to 7b+ in six months, or maybe even a year (£600 in gym membership) or more by my self as I likely would have over trained and undone all of my hard work. If you value your climbing like I do with trips around the uk and abroad and want to get the most out of my climbing the program seems to have saved me money rather than cost it.
Luc –
Stuck on a plateau for a long time, I kept training by myself convinced I was just lacking endurance. Lattice assessment, instead, identified finger strength as my weakness. Training plan was easy to follow and as a result I am now climbing consistently harder than before. Totally worth it!
Raul –
I bought my fist Lattice training plan together with my wife and 2 other friends. We all were surprised to truly see each plan tailored to everyone’s needs. We all have seen good results so far, but particularly in my case, I have seen results beyond pure strength increase. I used to have a bit of a climbers elbow pain and one of my shoulders used to give me some trouble every once and then. The conditioning part of the training and the structure of the plan itself have kept me injury free and these two niggles have completely disappeared. I will definitely keep on training with Lattice.
Ian Mulvany –
A few weeks ago I finished up the 12-week climbing training plan. During lockdown this has helped me improve my finger strength, and gotten me back to being fit for climbing. I really enjoyed this, and have just signed up for my second 12 week block. I have been climbing for about 30 years and am heading into my late 40s. I really believe that with structured training like this which is customised to my own current level and weaknesses, that there is every chance that I can actually reach some personal bests over the next year. I’m looking forward to starting the next block

I’ve been meaning to write a review for a while but have struggled to put into words just how great my experience with Lattice has been (without it getting too cheesy). Basically it’s like…an addiction, but in the best possible sense of the word. You start off dabbling a little, maybe watch a few youtube videos or listen to some of their podcasts, next you might join the Lattice FB community, then you get a 4 week plan, you see how quickly you progress physically and end up getting a longer plan, which lead to another one and then another one until it becomes a constant, positive part of your life. Basically the more involved you get the better it becomes and the more you want. But it’s not just about the training and the physical benefits, there’s sooo much more to it! Yes, the plan is brilliant, easy to follow and varied enough to be interesting (mine has board climbing, fingerboard sessions as well as lots of S&C and mobility). The fact that it’s planned especially for your needs/goals certainly adds a motivational aspect and the Crimpd app is very user friendly. After just 4 weeks I definitely saw improvement in all areas but for me, the mental aspect has made even more of a difference. The coaches are so helpful and I really think you can tell how committed they are to making Lattice the very best it can be. They really go above and beyond with what they do and there’s a constant feed of new, useful information through various channels, covering all areas from nutrition, to bouldering, to projecting, training and more(!) and always in a really approachable, welcoming way. It really doesn’t matter if you’re completely new to climbing or if you’ve been climbing for years, it’s a happy mix to suit everyone. The positivity throughout the community is absolutely infectious and it’s really the best possible platform I can imagine for all your climbing needs. Honestly, I feel like I haven’t just found a fun, effective training plan; I feel like I’ve found my tribe.
William Sanders –
I am just starting this plan, but I have been very impressed with the quality of the app, and the forethought in the customized routine based on my training history. Their online support community on facebook is extremely useful and I appreciate the direct response I received from Tom Randall himself in regards to questions I had about my specific training plan. While I could have programmed my own plan to save some money, the smooth integration of the plan with the app itself is worth it’s weight in gold so to speak. I am very hopeful that I’ll see measurable benefit at the conclusion of my first training block and look forward to working with them in the future.
Sascha –
Why should I apply? That was my question as well. As already commented above from others you can stuck in details and get confused from the possibilities by setting up your own training plan. With my the first plan I was surprised by the workouts and intensities. At the beginning I struggled a bit to schedule them smart. My impression is that it´s very elaborated. Even when completely stuck with to lock-down home training I improved much when climbing outside. For sure there are other important aspects of climbing which can´t be covered e.g. fear of falling. But from the physical perspective it paid-off great for me.
Luc –
After conducting a Home Training Plan with Lattice in February and March 2021, I was positively surprised about my gains in max strength, power endurance and endurance. Thus, it was an easy decision to follow-up with a 3 month Lite Plan in July, August and September 2021. I enjoyed the well-founded and carefully elaborated training plan by Cameron, that was particularly tailored on my three week trip in summer when I was on the road. I plan to start my next Lite Plan for 6 months in the beginning of November 2021. I cannot wait to start.
Sara Díez –
Really happy with my climbing improvements, specialy with my performance in roofs and overhangs! I’m in the second month of my training plan, and last weekend I sent two V5 (one of them flashed), three V6 (one of them in 2 tries) and my first V7 (in 4 tries). Let’s see what I can achieve after 6 months of Lattice Lite Training Plan! TY Raf and Tom 🙂
Sander –
I just love the Lattice training plan. I am now on my second consecutive plan and just decided to continue on my third. I can sum up what is great about this plan in three points. 1. Flexibility. My training days move around a lot depending on work and weather, so the ability to adjust each weeks schedule is great and very easy. Also it helps to plan out the week in advance. 2. Changing stimuli. The focus of my training hasn’t changed but each consecutive plan tackles is with different exercises. This keeps it interesting and makes sure the body can keep adapting. 3. The progress is real! After hitting a plateau at 6c/7a for two years I finally broke through this ceiling. 7a’s are doable in one or two sessions and 7b is within reach. Keep up the great work and loving the information on Instagram! Sander
Freddie –
To make it clear how great lattice plans have been for me this is the 3rd one I’ve had! I’m often recommending these guys to other climbers who may be struggling with eg finger strength or flexibility, or injuries, plateaus or whatever. If you’ve never had a training plan before, Lattice will identify the low hanging fruit and you’ll see rapid improvement. In my first plan my finger strength was identified as being well below average for climbers at my grade. I went from being able to hang a 20mm edge with bodyweight+12kg at the start of the plan, to +32kg at the end. After completing a fingerboarding plan, that figure went up again to +42kg. Finger strength is no longer a limiting factor in my climbing, and I’ve got popeye forearms to boot which is a nice little bonus! Workouts are loaded in to the app and I really like how you can plan your own week. Plenty of guidance is given as to what structure is sensible in training terms, such as completing antagonist conditioning before a climbing session. This lets you suit the workouts to your own needs while doing things in an optimal way. Like many others I am in the position of being obsessed with climbing, but I have a desk job as well and not as much free time as I’d like. When I’m not at work I want to be climbing or training. I don’t have much time to read the literature or compile a database of climbing performance metrics. These plans represent brilliant value for money! The lattice guys really know their stuff from years of research, and the coaches themselves are super strong climbers. All 3 times I’ve had a plan, I’ve seen an improvement in my grade and, more importantly, enjoyment in climbing as I feel light as a bird and injury free. Keep up the great work Lattice!
R. Artiles Uriarte –
My recently finished training plan in numbers: -Max weight pull-ups: 10% improvement -Open grip max hangs: 23% improvement* -Small edges: 6%* -Hip flexibility: 149 cm to 153.5 cm. Outdoor grades: -From projecting anti-style 7As to projecting anti-style 7Cs (and feeling within reach) -Anti-style 7As now go in a few tries. -7B/7B+ go in a pair of sessions. Notable improvements: -Fingerstrenght. -Technique. -Flexibility. ** The abnormal 23% improvement is most likely due to a very laid back first testing session, I think something between 15-20% might be more realistic. Similarly, both days doing testing on small edges were rather hot and humid (24C, 64% humidity), this perhaps had some effect on the results. To me, this sounds like a win!
Stefan Bergquist –
I am very happy with the training plan and my results. The initial test identified my weakness in max finger strength and this was the focus of the training plan. Coming back from a finger injury, I was a bit worried but after following the plan rather strictly my fingers are much stronger AND feel healthier than in a long time. My climbing feels much more solid, and the plan made me reach my season’s goal of setting a new sport climbing PB.
Spencer –
Really really good training plan! I had gotten in a bit of a rut with my climbing/training and was looking to change things up leading into the fall season. The lattice training plan was exactly what I was looking for. When training on your own, I feel its easy to end up strong in the areas you train but unknowingly really weak in areas you neglect. So by having a personalized plan that targeted my weaknesses, that were shown in the testing, I was able to have my strongest season yet! Im really looking forward to working with Lattice again and to keep growing as a climber.
Deanna –
I finished up a 6 month plan and able to reach my goal of sending my 5.12a project and I was climbing 5.11a/b at the time. The structure and assessment of my weaknesses really helped. The most interesting was the flexibility training, as I had thought I was pretty flexible. I definitely could not have done it without a structured training plan to follow. I am very satisfied with the results and learning to train hard for a project! Thanks Lattice!
Matej –
After a very long plateau and a consistent training with Lattice sport training plan, I finally managed to break that plateau. When my last block of traning was over and before new one has started, I managed to pull off some good climbs: – 7a+ on second go in my local crag (with such an ease that grade felt like a was climbing an easy grade) – two 7b’s in a row on kilterboard – 7c on 4th try on kilterboard I’m still blown away about those climbs! Can’t wait to start with the new cycle of training and see what this season will bring me on the rock. 🙂
Andrew –
Another follow on training plan. I have real gains in my climbing both in grade and consistency. The plan is very well designed and balanced enabling me to fit in training around my other commitments. It is also enjoyable in itself.
Jamie –
My lattice plan has definitely helped me to see measurable improvements in my climbing performance, making solid progress toward longer term goals. Looking at 3 key areas – pulling strength increase by 3%, finger strength increase by 9%, and completed multiple v8 boulders (before plan only 1)!!!! Most importantly though the focused structure has helped me re-evaluate how to use time more effectively to work towards goals – and has helped me shift into a quality over quantity mindset which feels to have made a big difference for my overall performance Very happy with the effectiveness of my plan. The whole process is very easy and felt that my coach (Jon Procter) did a great job setting out a relevant plan for my goals – thanks Jon! The video is a really nice addition and had me excited to start the plan and the training. Managing sessions is super easy with the app (ie planning and moving sessions, recording notes and tracking progress) which is highly valuable as the plans do have a lot of exercises and sessions to track and manage. Overall the total package exceeded my expectations, and definitely plan to start another training plan before the end of the year.
Laura –
I improved my strength on everything easily measurable/quantifiable (weight lifted). I felt that I increased my confidence in climbing at the gym measured by number of climbs that I could flash on a given day (though saw increase at the lower end of my grade range). People who didn’t know I was on a plan commented that i looked stronger / more powerful on the wall. I am definitely planning to include elements of the training plan into my continued ongoing maintenance and would consider purchasing another lattice plan for a tune up / re focus in the winter. I loved this training plan and the app, the flexibility and easy of scheduling the training around my schedule reduced the mental burden and allowed me to focus my effort on training. I definitely want to check back in with a coach after the fall climbing season and get a new 6 – 12 week plan for winter. I do plan to continue using some of the timing features in the app to do some maintenance between now and when I sign up again. Results exceeded my expectations – I didn’t expect other people to notice over such a short period of time (I only did a 6 week plan). The app was also easy/ fun to use to both schedule work outs and remind myself of what exercise i was supposed to be doing.
Freddy –
I don’t think that I have necessarily gotten a lot stronger/better immediately after the training plan. However I think it’s still been massively beneficial. I think with a longer plan than 6 weeks the effects would have been more noticeable right after finishing it. Now I have gotten the feeling that the training plan broke a lot of thought patterns and approaches. So instead of a frustrating plateau it feels like the beginning of an exciting journey. I have seen quite some improvements in my climbing that I attribute to a sort of secondary effect of the training plan. Especially mentally it’s been quite helpful.
Daniel –
Feeling stronger, especially in the shoulder area
– Better endurance
– recovery in rest positions was possible
– No elbow problems, although the training volume was higher than usual. Especially no elbow problems although pull-up training with additional weight was part of the training plan. I used to have problems with recovery with these exercises and I would get elbow pain
Yolanda –
I’m feeling physically and mentally strong. I’ve learnt to identify my weaknesses and do something about it, as well as train other aspects of my climbing. My technique is much better and I consider that I’m a better climber in different styles. This has allowed me to improve my grades but, more importantly, to enjoy more my sessions as I can experiment with more interesting moves.
The app is very easy to use and very convenient. It allows you to forget about any problem in life you might have and focus in your training and climbing. All exercises are well explained and the videos and short descriptions are easy to understand and very usefull.
Misha –
1. Enables training consistency. Having family with children and full time job it’s hard to additionally focus on building training plan for myself. So I’m really glad to delegate this work to professionals.
2. Consistency leads to improvements. Having started trainings by your programs I can see steady improvement in my climbing. I wouldn’t say that I “jumped to new level” but in given life circumstances I would say that with your help I’m doing my best.
3. Covering the basics. Thanks to the training program I think my basic physical shape and muscle/tendon stability has improved a lot.
Looking forward to test myself on the rocks next season;)”””
Christopher –
Noticed I’m able to climb a grade harder at the gym and certain moves feel easier.
Appreciated Raf’s responsiveness throughout the training period. Exercises were hard but were what was needed.
Devin –
Really targeted my weaknesses and I have noticed a huge increase in the volume of quality atemps I get
Jakub –
I feel stronger. I lacked motivation to implement my own plans. thanks to the structured design, I know what I’m working on. Previously, when writing my own plans, I had too much workload during the week and I got discouraged
Alessandro –
Training plan over the past years helped me get more and more confident in climbing assuring an optimum physical readyness
Emil –
I feel the biggest gain in finger strength and the ability to climb overhanging routes – big yay
Nathan –
During the 6-week plan, I felt really psyched. I improved a lot, session after session, and stayed motivated all the way long. Now I feel stronger than ever and I look forward to keep going.
Clara –
Due to the specific, well-structured training, I was able to make progress. It’s no longer the case that I spend hours hanging around in the bouldering gym, just doing some bouldering. Now, I’m there to train. Through strength exercises and finger strength training, I notice that I have significantly more power. I’ve also gained much more body tension, which gives me better control on the wall – whether overhanging or not.

After finishing my training plan I immediately sent a long-term project (7c+) my first day back on it for the season. I’m currently in Rifle and feeling strong and having an amazing trip.
Reiko –
I feel that my arms and fingers got stronger and flexibility improved. I have more confidence in certain moves
Alek –
I was suffering with pump even though I climbed a lot and trained. The plan taught me how to train and focus on the right areas
Kieren –
This plan was a gift from my wife and it’s 100% the best gift I’ve ever had. I’ve been so focussed and gone up 2 grades so quickly outdoors
Filippo –
I felt in a good shape . In the last week of training I had the opportunity to go to Saint Leger for a week, I managed to close an 8a and climb every day on difficulties between 7c and 8a. This made me very happy.
Thomas –
I sent my sport project and highest sport outdoor grade.
I am able to consistently send the hardest set grade at there various gyms I’ve attended recently (a grade up from before training)
Laura –
I loved this training plan and the app, the flexibility and easy of scheduling the training around my schedule reduced the mental burden and allowed me to focus my effort on training. I definitely want to check back in with a coach after the fall climbing season and get a new 6 – 12 week plan for winter. I do plan to continue using some of the timing features in the app to do some maintenance between now and when I sign up again.
Daria –
I had a very positive experience with the training plan. After following the program, I feel significantly stronger and have regained my previous form. I noticed considerable improvement and progress, which I am very pleased with.
I really enjoyed the variety of exercises included in the program. There were many new and engaging exercises that kept the training sessions interesting and motivating. The plan was effective, helping me see tangible progress in my climbing strength and endurance.
Gareth –
By the end of my plan, I was definitely in the strongest climbing shape of my life. Despite neither being necessarily the core focus of the plan, both my general upper body strength and finger strength showed considerable improvement. Perhaps most satisfying, however, was the improvement in my lower body flexibility and mobility, which not only has improved my movement on the wall, but has eliminated pain that I used to experience in my hips and knees when placed in more compromising positions. I’ll certainly be retaining many of these mobility exercises in my future training.
Alain –
Feeling more confident on crimps, better core on steep wall
Robyn –
My climbing has improved enormously. Have been onsighting 7bs indoors (which I never even did pre-kids!). I haven’t managed to touch rock yet, but I am feeling pretty stoked to when I can! Looking forward to another training plan in the new year!
I felt like my postpartum background was taken into account but a coach who had lived through the experience… and fun was also factored in… allowing me to see the gains as I went through the plan!

I have 58 year;I returned to climbing few years ago, at age of 52, after 20 years of stop.
Lattice training plan helped me rebuild all aspect: endurance, strength and power in a correct way and especially to prevent injuries. When I started training alone I had several injuries like epicondilites, etc.
Carson –
Went from v9/10 to v11/12
Edoardo –
Always thought that finger strength was my main weakness, but the assessment interestingly identified overall fitness and flexibility as main weaknesses.
Working on them has improved my climbing (both grade-wise and from how I feel on rock more generally).
Tyler –
Ultimately, I achieved my goal, sending V8 outdoors, as well as much more consistently sending V6 (and V7!) I fully intend on continuing with Lattice!
I really enjoyed having much more diverse S&C exercises, as well as flexibility work. It felts like a great workload, and very diverse. Also my pickup edge training was very interesting to me (*way* less than I was doing before, for better gains, I believe).
Lena –
I‘ve improved a lot in my onsight ability as well as my red point grade. And additional to that I also improved my bouldering grade.
Before I started training with this plan I’ve plateaued for a while even if I’ve trained the same time as I am doing now.
Rebecca –
The Lattice training plan definitely made me stronger physically, especially my fingers and shoulders. I think the technique/mental sides of climbing are hard if not impossible to address with a plan like this….but that’s ok!! The point is it definitely improved my climbing performance on the physical side by increasing my training volume and incorporating the proper mix of exercises. I really enjoyed the mix of exercises and the flexibility to design my own schedule.
Eliška –
The training plan helped me to control my workload and no to get overtrained. I feel I have stronger shoulders and I am more solid in my climbs. Last but not least, it helped me also with my mental game – giving my tries 100 % and not saving the energy for the next attempt. I was surprised how I can squeeze myself and top the boulder that I though I can’t do.
Andrew –
Never felt so strong! Bouldering grade indoors has definitely gone up, from V4 max to ticking 7 V5s and 2 V6 during the last month of the plan. My pullup strength gains mean I can now do 4×3 at a whisker under my previous 2 rep max. I have literally had to reprogram my brain to adjust it to the moves I can now do, and am still frequently surprised by the moves I can now stick. This after >20 years of climbing!
Nicolas –
I feel fitter in every aspect of my body (legs, core, fingers, arms, shoulders)
Andrew –
Since starting with Lattice I have increased my bouldering grade from Font 6C to 7A, Sport climbing has progressed from fighting up 6b+ and very rare redpoint 6c to solid 6b+ on sighting with confidence and ease and redpointing 6c+ and starting to project 7a. Endurance on route is way better and my ability to keep going throughout the day is also greatly improved.
Andrea –
Feeling fit and confident.
Back pain has also gone down massively. Top grade is still around 7A, but feeling the consistency getting better
James –
My Lattice training plan has definitely helped me to see measurable improvements in my climbing performance, making solid progress toward longer term goals.
Looking at 3 key areas – pulling strength increase by 3%, finger strength increase by 9%, and completed multiple v8 boulders (before plan only 1)!!!!
Most importantly though the focused structure has helped me re-evaluate how to use time more effectively to work towards goals – and has helped me shift into a quality over quantity mindset which feels to have made a big difference for my overall performance
Aston –
There was progress in every aspect of training during my 12 week plan, helping me hit my target of sending two 7b’s before the end of the year.
Yolanda –
I am really happy with the training plan and the results I have seen so far. I feel much stronger and my climbing has improved significantly. It’s helped me to focus on my weaknesses and improve my overall climbing ability.
My level has improved and I feel that I can do more difficult and interesting moves now. The training has also helped with my mental game on how to approach projects and try to push harder. I love following the sessions and I feel I’m a better and more complete climber now.
Quentin –
The training plan was excellent, it definitely improved my climbing performance. I feel stronger and more confident on the wall. Amazing for providing structure and intention to training. Helping me be consistent has been the biggest driver of improvement.
This was my first training plan with Lattice and I was very impressed with how well it was tailored to my individual needs and goals. I have seen great results and would definitely recommend Lattice to others. I’ve tried other training plans in the past but Lattice is by far the best. The app is great and the coaches are really supportive.
Maxime –
The Climbing Training Plan has been a game-changer for me. I have made more progress in the past few months than I have in years.
It is very clear that your data-based approach is working. It was uncanny how well the training load was adapted to me throughout the plan (well maybe except the ones targeting the core, those were impossible :D). Overall, I’m still satisfied as it enabled me to actually structure my climbing & training for once.
I have already recommended the app to other people. I have seen huge improvements in my climbing and overall fitness.
Brendan –
I’m loving the training plan! It’s challenging but also really rewarding. I’m excited to see how much further I can progress.
Fingers stronger and more resilient. Everything else stronger too. Better mobility. Looking forward to the outdoor season so I can see how it translates onto rock!
