Develop your pinch
The Quad Block is a versatile, portable training tool designed to help climbers enhance their grip strength, focusing on the crucial pinch grips used in climbing. Developed with input from top coaches, physiotherapists, and sports scientists, this device offers four distinct pinch sizes—deep wide, shallow wide, deep narrow, and shallow narrow—allowing climbers to target specific muscle groups in the forearm and hand. Additionally, the Quad Block includes a 30mm lifting edge, perfect for beginners or those rehabilitating finger injuries, providing a comprehensive solution for grip strength training.
The Quad Block is a portable, aluminum pinch block designed to help climbers improve their grip strength across a range of hold sizes. Developed with input from top coaches, pro climbers, physiotherapists, grip strength athletes, and sports scientists, it offers four different pinch sizes that specifically engage the key forearm and hand flexor muscles used in climbing. Whether you’re training at home or in the gym, the Quad Block is an essential tool for developing a balanced grip system that prepares you for any pinch hold. Additionally, the Quad Block includes a 30mm lifting edge, for performing pick-ups and warming-up.
Repeatable design for accurate testing and training
One of the key benefits of the Quad Block is its anodised aluminum finish, which provides consistent surface friction every session. Unlike wood, which can vary in texture depending on environmental factors such as humidity, temperature, and skin moisture, the aluminum finish ensures reliable, repeatable results. It might feel more challenging to lift, but the reduced reliance on friction ensures that your test results reflect your finger strength rather than the grip of your skin. The device also features mechanical depth stoppers, which guarantee that your fingers are positioned consistently every time, further enhancing the reliability of your training.
Kind to skin
The Quad Block is kind to your skin, making it ideal for climbers who need to manage skin wear during intense training sessions. The cool-to-the-touch aluminium surface is gentler on the skin compared to traditional wooden blocks, allowing you to maintain your training routine even when your skin is fatigued or sore. Chalk doesn’t ingress into the device over time as it does with wood and is easy to wipe clean after training.

Bought the new quad block and really like it. Had the wooden one previously and I felt that was too wide a pinch for my hands. Think this is a much better width and also seems to be better in varying temperatures (the wooden one wasn’t as good when it was very hot). Love the fact that you have got various width of grip training as well.

I’ve been wanting something to train my pinch grip for years and the quad block does everything I need it to. Super sweet set up with 4 different widths and depths which I like as my training workouts can then be longer and more varied. I’d say that the grips are quite different when it comes to difficulty so you can build up your lifts over time. My go-to is wide and deep for building the pounds up. So far the durability has been excellent and has travelled to the gym, cliffs and hung around at home. Thanks to Lattice for making another great product!

I like my block but the steel or whatever seems cheap as hell drop it once and it dent.. way over priced for how flimsy it is. you can but much better blocks from companies like rogue or other grip strip companies.

Dear Chase,
Thank you for your feedback regarding the Quad Block. We’re glad to hear that you like it, and we appreciate your honesty about your concerns.
We chose aluminium for our Quad Blocks to achieve the unique and complex geometry that provides four ergonomic grip sizes, essential for effective grip strength training. While stainless steel is an alternative, it would significantly limit our design capabilities and substantially increase the cost.
We understand your concerns about durability. Our aim is always to balance quality, functionality, and price.

Wonderful training device – improvement has come quickly and I definitely notice it on the wall. I’m doing a simple routine of 10 x 10s near max holds after handboarding, with the “wide and deep” option, on the minute, alternating hands, and delighted with the results. The width and depth options are just great; I’m sure I’ll eventually use them all.

Really nice tool! Feels and looks really well made. Real eye-catcher. Only minus is the corners could be rounded/beweled; they’re not sharp so that you’ll cut yourself but I think it’d make the feeling of the product even nicer 🙂

Really impressed with this tool! Would like to see the edge beveled where the rope runs through to extend life in future iterations, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with this. Would also love to see a straight vertical quad block option eventually!

Really impressed with the quality and design. It is quite expensive but worth it because there’s so much to it, plus it comes with a training guide and all set up with hanging cord. Extremely comfortable to train with.
