Flexibility training is no different
Let’s apply the tried-and-tested training methodologies from other areas to flexibility! We know that regular testing allows us to track our progress which is key to avoiding plateaus and maintaining psych—and this is precisely what the Flex Mat is designed to help you achieve. Use the built-in scales to measure your stretches and visibly track your progress over time.
2 Linear Scales & 2 Angle Finders
End Angle Finder: Use this to measure your pancake stretch. Sit on the end alignment marker with your legs in a straddle position and reach forward. Measure how far you can reach and the angle created by your legs.
Centre Angle Finder: Perfect for measuring your straddle or side/centre/middle split. Sit on the alignment marker, stretch, and measure the angle of your split.
End-to-End Linear Scale: Ideal for assessing your pike or front fold. Sit at the end of the mat on the alignment marker with your legs straight in front of you, fold in half, and reach forward. Measure the distance that your hands can reach.
Centre-Out Linear Scale: Use this to measure your horse squat, front splits, or side/centre/middle splits. Centre yourself on the mat using the alignment marker and begin to move your feet outwards. Measure the distance your feet have travelled from the center.
The alignment markers enhance repeatability, ensuring you perform the same stretch during each testing or training session.
Pair the Flex Mat with our Flex Block, our cork yoga block, to enable regressions or progressions of stretches, as well as, aid in measurements. Check out our Flex Master Bundle to save on both products.

Purchased in July 24 and Reviewed in August 24.
TL;DR
Unique. It gives you what it sets out to and (imo) more and is so comfy. I think it could be the best mat on the market. Great Pilates mat. Minor design changes would make it even more functional.
Typically I feel slightly disappointed when I buy a new mat esp an expensive one but not this time. One of the best exercise equipment purchases I’ve made.
Thank you all for making this 😀
This has become my go to mat. It is super comfy yet firm and I enjoy the texture of the cork. I use it any time I need a mat- exercise, meditation, w/e. Compared to my previous lulu mat and other mats I’ve owned this one is the best across the board. Thickness is good and I haven’t had any problems with my joints even through some long routines. I haven’t taken this to a hot yoga class but so far I have had 0 issues with slippage. Keeps fairly clean. No issues with spots and looks good after a month of 1-3 hour daily use. Rolls up tight enough to fit the cup holder on my backpack so I cinch that down and strap it in making it surprisingly transportable.
I purchased this mat for my warmups which are typically Pilates and other routines where placement and precision are important. I warmup solo and the guidelines have allowed me to self correct my form in lieu of an instructor, which I think has improved the overall quality of my warmup. I spend less time and energy worrying about placement and can turn my attention inward and to movement. This has improved my climbing though it’s hard to write exactly how. Def an improved warmup helps both during session and recovery but also I could argue that better precision and placement coupled with less worry about precision and placement has improved my mind body connection which is def transferrable to the wall. Maybe that’s a stretch (get it cause it’s a stretch matXD) but that’s my take.
Some minor improvements:
I know the mat may not be intended to be used how I use it but please move or shrink the lattice logo. Preferably both. It gets in the way of how i use the mat.
Please a centerline extended from the crosshairs all the way down the mat (0/20 to 40/20)- that way i can put masking tape for cueing where I need it. Or if it isn’t too messy or confusing add lines perpendicular to the current lines to make a grid. Could use a lighter color for perpendicular lines but if too messy and confusing just the centerline would be awesome.
I think these changes would expand the functionality making it more general for body awareness rather than intended for measuring how far you can stretch. Could open it up as a good option for other disciplines:]

This mat is absolutely amazing quality and I know will last me a lifetime. Having the ability to measure progress has been so helpful and helps to motivate and keep me on track. I know the gains that consistency will bring so this progress tracking has been really important to keep the flexibility training going. Thanks Lattice!

Good quality but for my choice or has not enough GRIP.

Hey Aaron,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the Flex Mat. We’re glad to hear you’re pleased with the quality!
Regarding the grip, we understand that preferences can vary. Our choice of cork material was based on extensive research and feedback from our coaches. Cork provides a unique balance – it allows for smooth transitions into deeper stretches, yet offers sufficient grip under light pressure to maintain positions. This feature was designed to cater to a range of flexibility exercises, offering versatility and ease of use.

I’ve purchased some items from Lattice before so I had a high expectation. The flex mat is much better made than I thought it would be and feels like it is one of those things that is going to last for years not months. I love the cork finish and measurements and how they go with the online assessment. It’s easy to use and I’ll be buying again. Thanks.

How many cm is one flex unit? is the units inches
Harley Widdowson – Lattice Training (verified owner) –
Hey Snorre,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of our Flex Mat. We greatly appreciate your feedback and understand your concern regarding the use of our unique ‘flex unit’ measurement system.
To clarify, one flex unit on our mat is equivalent to 5 cm or approximately 2 inches. We understand that introducing a new measure might seem unconventional. However, this decision was made with our users’ ease in mind. In our testing, we found that using larger, consistent units (5 cm/2 in) significantly simplified the process of self-assessing flexibility. This is particularly crucial for our MyFlex feature, designed to provide accurate feedback without the need for assistance.
We chose this measurement to strike a balance between the metric and imperial systems, making it accessible to a wide range of users and reducing potential errors in self-assessment. Our goal was to enhance every training session’s efficiency, enabling users to fully utilize the mat’s features independently.
