Terms of Service

Effective to 15th February 2020.

1. Summary

Lattice Training Ltd provides services which include coaching, physical training and physical assessments for climbers and athletes. The utility, delivery and management of these services are detailed below. As most activities within sport and exercise involve a risk to the participant risks and responsibilities are described in detail. Anyone who participates in a service provided by Lattice Training Ltd must read, understand and agree to the terms covered in this document. By reading and agreeing to the terms of this document and those within the pre-assessment questionnaire, you are accepting all terms of use service here.

If you are unsure about anything covered within this document or do not agree to anything covered within this document you must contact Lattice Training Ltd and cease any progress towards using any associated service.

2. Governing Law

The Terms of Service, and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.

Each party irrevocably agrees that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with the Contract or its subject matter or formation.

3. Suitability for participation with services and acceptance of associated risks

In order to participate in any activity or service provided by Lattice Training Ltd you, the participant, must be eligible based upon the guidelines listed below;

  • You must be over 18 years of age or provide evidence of permission to participate from a parent or guardian.
  • You must not have been advised to not participate in any climbing or physical training related activities by a qualified medical professional.
  • You must not be aware of any health related reasons or problems which may increase the risk of participation in climbing or physical training activities.
  • You acknowledge that any activity associated with Lattice Training Ltd services may involve a test of a person’s physical and mental limits and carries with it the potential for death, serious injury, minor injury and adverse effects to mental health. The risks include, but are not limited to, those caused by training activities, assessment activities, terrain, facilities, temperature, condition of participants, equipment, lack of hydration, and actions of other people including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, monitors, and/or producers of the activity.
  • You understand while participating in this activity, you may be photographed and/or filmed for the purposes of coaching feedback.
  • You agree to allow your photo, video, or film likeness to be used for any legitimate coaching purpose by Lattice Training Ltd. Any further use of such content for sponsorship, social media, educational purposes and/or promotional material must be agreed upon before any use by Lattice Training Ltd.
  • You accept responsibility for immediately reporting the onset or reoccurrence of injury or reduction in mental health to the Lattice Training Ltd coaching team. Further details are included in section 5.
  • You agree that at the onset and/or reoccurrence of injury or potential injury you will cease any activities given to you by Lattice Training Ltd. Further details of cessation of activity is listed in section 5.

If you are unsure about any of these pre-requisites and guidelines, you must contact the Lattice Training Ltd team before participating in any services.

4. Athletic Assessments

Lattice Training offer several services which assess different attributes of an athletes performance in sport. Assessment procedures can be completed under the supervision of  a Lattice Training Ltd employee, an external coach using similar protocols or remotely without direct supervision. As with most testing in sport, all assessment services will require participants to test themselves to the limit both physically and mentally. This means that all assessment services provided by Lattice Training Ltd involve a risk of death, serious injury, minor injury and adverse effects to mental health. In order to reduce this risk, a Lattice Training Ltd policy states that;

  • Assessment protocols are designed carefully by experts with the reduction of risk to participants in mind. Technical advisers within the team are used to create content to provide the best and safest service available,
  • Any service not involving direct supervision may only be purchased if you meet service specific requirements. These will be detailed at the time of purchase. This may include but is not restricted to; being 18 years of age or older, being free from injury and accepting the risks involved in such an assessment.
  • Members of Lattice Training Ltd are educated in the suitability of testing procedures (including remote assessments and coach led assessments) for participants who purchase such services. If a potential participant is not suitable for such services they will be contacted before initiation of an assessment service after submission of a pre-assessment document.
  • Lattice Training Ltd use data collected and up to date research to inform the best practice of these services.

5. Training Services

Lattice Training offer several services to train different attributes of an athletes performance in sport. Training services including guidance and structured plans are created by Lattice Training Ltd employee’s and are completed remotely without direct supervision. Services may or may not include the support from a coach via email correspondence. As with most training within sport, all training services will require participants to challenge themselves both physically and mentally. This means that all training services provided by Lattice Training Ltd involve a risk of death, serious injury, minor injury and adverse effects to mental health. In order to reduce this risk, a Lattice Training Ltd policy states that;

  • Training services are designed carefully by experts with the reduction of risk to participants in mind. Technical advisers within the team are used to create content to provide the best and safest service available,
  • Services without direct supervision may only be purchased if the client meets the criteria set out at the time of purchase. This may include but is not restricted to; being 18 years of age or older, being free from injury and accepting the risks involved in such a service.
  • Members of Lattice Training Ltd are educated in the suitability of training services for participants who purchase such services. If a potential participant is not suitable for such services they will be contacted before initiation of a training service after submission of a pre-assessment document and/or assessment.
  • Lattice Training Ltd use data collected and up to date research to inform the best practice of these services.

6. Injury

As this document has stated above, services offered by Lattice Training Ltd involve a risk of injury. It is important that you are aware of what to do upon the onset of a potential injury or injury. In order to uphold the terms of use of any service offered by Lattice Training Ltd you must follow the procedures below;

  • On the onset of injury or potential injury cease all activities associated with the services or products of Lattice Training Ltd,
  • Seek medical advice,
  • Inform the Lattice Training team as soon as possible,
  • Do not continue to complete any activities associated with the services or products of Lattice Training Ltd until you have received a reply from a member of the Lattice Training coaching team.
