How coach-written plans handle injuries, pregnancy and postpartum, disability, and age requirements.
Injuries and training plans
On certain occasions, a coach-written plan can be built around an injury, usually alongside guidance from a physio or doctor.
If you're on a Climbing Training Plan Plus or Flexibility Training Plan, you should tell your coach about any injury. It is sometimes possible for them to adjust your training around it, progress it safely as you recover, and work alongside your physiotherapist, building their guidance into your plan week by week.
We're unfortunately unable to work with injured clients on our self-led Climbing Training Plans, except for lower-body injuries, where we can provide plans that focus on fingerboarding and upper-body conditioning.
If you're in the early stages of an injury and not ready to train yet, seeing a physiotherapist first is often the right call, and you can pick training back up when you're ready.

Pregnancy and postpartum
Training through pregnancy or postpartum needs specialist, individual guidance, and that's exactly what coaching is for.
Our coach Jemma has completed a dedicated course to support climbers through pregnancy and postpartum. Through our Plus service she can tailor your training as your body and symptoms change, often working alongside a pelvic health physio, with the close, ongoing contact this stage needs.

If you're pregnant or in your first year postpartum, email contact@latticetraining.com and we'll help you get started. You'll need sign-off from your doctor first, and if you're postpartum, you'll need to be at least 3 months postpartum before getting started.
Training with a disability
We're proud to support disabled and paraclimbers through our coaching. Working directly with a coach means we can understand your climbing fully, make bespoke adjustments, and stay in close, ongoing contact, which we've found makes the biggest difference.
Tell us about your needs in your pre-plan form, and on a Climbing Training Plan Plus or Flexibility Training Plan your coach will tailor your training and adapt it as you progress.

Under-18s
Our training plans are for climbers aged 18 and over, so we're not currently able to take on under-18s for a LatticePlan, Climbing Training Plan, Climbing Training Plan Plus, or Flexibility Training Plan.
