Choosing your plan
Comparing the Climbing Training Plan, Climbing Training Plan Plus and Flexibility Training Plan, and their requirements.
Our coach-written plans are written for you by a Lattice coach. There are two kinds – self-led, or alongside 1:1 remote coaching.
Which plan is right for me?
All three plans are written for you by a Lattice coach. The difference is how much ongoing support you get once you've got your plan.
- Climbing Training Plan – a one-off 12-week, coach-written plan. You fill in a detailed pre-plan form, your coach writes your plan and records a short video talking you through it, and from there you follow the plan through sessions in the Lattice Training app. There's no chat or ongoing coaching; but if you need us, email contact@latticetraining.com.
- Climbing Training Plan Plus – a subscription service that comes with 1:1 remote coaching via the Lattice app. It starts with a 2-week discovery phase (assessment and video call with your coach) and then delivers in recurring 12-week blocks.
- Flexibility Training Plan – the same coached subscription as Climbing Training Plan Plus, focused on flexibility.
Your coach contact is through in-app chat and video, not in person. See Your coach, chat and video calls for exactly what's included.
Not sure you meet the requirements? See Minimum physical requirements.
To compare features and prices and find the right fit, see our training plans page.
Minimum physical requirements
Our coach-written plans are built for climbers who already have a base of strength and experience to train from. You should have climbed V4/6B+ boulder or 6b+/5.10+ sport in the last 12 months. You must also be able to hang your bodyweight on a 20mm rung for 10 seconds or more (not applicable to Flexibility Training Plan).
Our LatticePlans are suitable for everyone and do not have any minimum physical requirements.
How much time will my plan take each week?
Our coach-written plans are built around the time you tell us you have in your pre-plan form, so it fits your week rather than the other way round.
What equipment do I need?
You will need set equipment for your assessment. Usually a 20mm fingerboard edge, pull-up bar and pulley system. Get in touch if you don't have access to this equipment so we can advise.
After your assessment, your coach builds your plan around the equipment you have access to, which you tell us in the pre-plan form. If your setup is limited, just say so, and we'll build the plan around your needs.
