Suitability & circumstances

Who LatticePlan is for, and guidance on training around injury, pregnancy and postpartum, and disability.

Level, age and beginners

LatticePlan is built for all climbers, and it adapts to your level, so it works for everyone from those new to training right through to elite-level climbers. There's no minimum grade.

You'll need to be 18 or over to use LatticePlan. Follow the links for more information on training around injury, training whilst pregnant or postpartum and training with a disability.

Injuries

If you're carrying an injury, LatticePlan isn't the right place to start.

LatticePlan builds your training from your level, experience, goals and time. It can't take in the detail of an injury or modify workouts around it, and climbing injuries vary so much in type and severity that training through one without proper guidance could slow your recovery.

Email contact@latticetraining.com and we will talk through your situation and point you to the safest next step.

Pregnancy and postpartum

If you're pregnant or returning to climbing postpartum, LatticePlan isn't the right fit, because this stage needs specialist, individual guidance that the app can't currently provide.

Everyone's experience is different, and things like your symptoms, trimester, delivery type and recovery all shape what training is safe and useful. LatticePlan can't collect that level of detail or adjust with the precision this stage needs.

What we recommend instead is close 1:1 work with a coach trained in pregnancy and postpartum support. Our coach Jemma has completed a dedicated course for exactly this, and can guide you with bespoke adjustments as your body and symptoms change, often alongside a pelvic health physio. You can work with her through 1:1 coaching, or book a consultation with Jemma.

If you're pregnant or in your first year postpartum, email contact@latticetraining.com and we'll help you get started. You'll need sign-off from your doctor first, and if you're postpartum, you'll need to be at least 3 months postpartum before beginning.

Training with a disability

We're proud to have supported disabled and paraclimbers through our 1:1 coaching, and for most disabled climbers that's the route we'd point you to rather than LatticePlan.

LatticePlan is built from coach expertise and performance data, but it can't currently collect or interpret the specific information needed to tailor training for disabled or paraclimbers, so it may not select the right sessions for your needs.

Working directly with a coach means we can understand your climbing fully, make bespoke adjustments, and keep in close, ongoing contact, which we've found makes the biggest difference.

Not sure which option is right? Email contact@latticetraining.com and a coach will get back to you personally to talk it through.
